Journey so far @HeaderLabs

Hello Everyone,

Today is Saturday but for HeaderLabs employees, its a “Blog Day”. In my all the past blogs, I only spoke about the technical stuffs which I learned here over the weeks at HeaderLabs. This time I want to write something which is purely non technical. Well, It doesn’t means that last week I didn’t learn anything new to share. I’ll surely share my learnings, but may be some other time.

It’s been more than six weeks for me here at HeaderLabs and It’s been a great journey so far. if you ask me, what do I love the most about this company? I would say, the atmosphere.

Since I have spent a month studying android, so I am not newbie to this technology. At least have acquired the basics. There are plenty of things still to learn, and I am looking forward for it. I personally feel that, a good mentor is the key of effective learning. 

Well, In my case, I think I am lucky that I got the mentors like Santosh Sir, who is also our team leader  and Nishant Sir. The special things about the both is, despite the work pressure, they keep the environment very entertaining and funny. This is one of the reason, now I don't feel sleepy post lunch. It’s a simple equation, when you spend time with the people around, you get familiar with them. So was the case with me. 

By the way, yesterday I, along with five other members, had to give a small party of “Chicken Roll/Veg Roll”(as a punishment) to all the employees of HeaderLabs, because of not changing the default password of the laptop. Well, It’s the culture of our organization, so you have to be sincere in order to exclude yourself from the victim list. Honestly, In all the previous “punishment parties” (thrown by other members) that I was enjoying, used to think, how could they commit such a silly mistakes (e.g., kept the opened water bottle at desk, forget the phone on desk, etc.) ? For which they are giving this party. And see what I did...yesterday. It happens sometime, you can’t help. So I concentrated on my Chicken Roll which was a Yummmyyy one. The best part of yesterday was that I got my first salary. It’s an amazing feeling.

As far as the updates are concerned, There are some few changes in our company’s policy. Initially, as per our company policy, we used to have Offs on Sunday & Monday, which has been shifted to Saturday & Sunday(for four weeks trial) starting from this month. Also, “work from home” facility will be available from this month onwards. Lots of fun, lots of learnings is happening with me here at HeaderLabs and I am loving this !!
